At first glance, let’s talk about their overall design elements and build quality. While both the device’s almost have the same height. Though the build quality is a bit different when you hold the device for the first time.
Both devices have curved displays which makes it look a lot premium compared to other devices in the market which have flat displays. You also get eco-leather design for a few variants, which is applicable for both devices.
In terms of build quality, there’s a major difference, as you get a plastic frame for the Edge 50 Fusion and aluminum build on the Edge 50 Pro.
Holding the Edge 50 pro feels high-quality in hand. Both models come with similar water resistance, which is IP68, now this lets you keep the device protected from water for up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
There’s one noticeable fact about the Edge 50 fusion, as it is literally around 11.1 grams lighter compared to Edge 50 Pro, which makes it feel lightweight while holding.

Both devices display similar curves and look quite beautiful when enjoying the contents. There’s also a fingerprint scanner on the display of both the devices, and they work pretty fast to unlock them as well.
One noticeable fact in the Edge 50 Pro is that it supports HDR10+ videos, so watching your TV-shows or movies looks absolutely amazing with rich sharpness and color depth. Although the Edge 50 Fusion doesn’t support this great viewing feature.

As for the Edge 50 Fusion, you get a dual rear camera lens, which is one 50MP main wide angle camera and a 13MP ultrawide lens with autofocus support. During daylight photography, you get good photos with appreciated sharpness. You also get a 32MP selfie shooter that shoots quite good selfies for outdoor photography.
In case of the Edge 50 Pro, you get a triple camera setup for the rear end, which is 50MP wide angle, 10MP 3x Telephoto and a 13MP Ultrawide lens. For the front camera, there’s a larger 50MP front facing camera for shooting selfies.

Performance category for both devices shows reliable results depending on their price point. In the case of the Edge 50 Fusion, you get Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 for the internal or global variant. In Bangladesh you will probably get the international variant, so no need to worry about the chipset confusion.
For internal ram or rom, you get up to 512GB storage or 12GB ram option and no dedicated memory slot. As for Antutu scores, you get around 500K plus scores from the Octa-core processor. Playing games like PUBG MOBILE or FREE Fire seemed quite good in smooth and extreme gameplay. Sound quality is pretty good while playing games or watching movies with Dolby Atmos supported in the stereo speakers.
In contrast, Edge 50 Pro 5G comes with a little better chipset, which is one of the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen3 chipset, which comes with Octa-core processor with 2.63GHz max processing power.
Get around 800K plus in Antutu benchmark scoring, now this beats the Edge 50 Fusion for about 300K plus scores. For ram or rom you get similar internals, up to 512GB storage and 12GB max ram option with no memory slot.
Internet speed shows greater results as well, as you literally get higher Wi-Fi capability with Wi-Fi 6E in the Moto Edge 50 Pro. Sound system is richer as well, as you not only get Dolby’s latest sound system but also Snapdragon sound as well for crispier audio quality.
It’s a shame that you cannot expand your memory with a memory card slot, hope Motorola could bring this option for the next devices.

When it comes to software features, both Edge 50 Fusion and Edge 50 Pro 5G comes with the latest Android 14 for it’s primary OS, although there’s a skin of Motorola’s new Hello UI.
This new user interface comes with Motorola’s custom features, like personalization of themes and fonts or even icon design changes. Due to the in-display fingerprint scanner on both the devices, unlocking seems quite easy and fast.
As for the software updates, you get 3 years of OS update and 4 years of security patches from Motorola. There’s also OTG and USB Type-C connectivity with desktop. Although the Edge 50 Pro comes with a wired display output advantage which the Edge 50 fusion lacks.

There are big differences noticed in terms of the battery life of both Edge 50 fusion and the Edge 50 Pro 5G. First of all let’s talk about the battery capacity, the Edge 50 Fusion comes with slightly higher, literally around 500mAh higher capacity compared to Edge 50 Pro 5G.
To be specific, you get 5000mAh battery in the Edge 50 Fusion and 4500mAh on the Edge 50 Pro 5. Now there’s no easy explanation from Motorola why they are charging more price with less battery life compared to it’s little brother. This extra battery life gives you greater movie and youtube streaming compared to Edge 50 Pro 5G.
Charging on the other hand, Motorola Edge 50 Pro wins the round without any conversation. As you get just 68W wired charging capability on the Edge 50 Fusion, while the Edge 50 Pro gives you around 125W fast charger in the box. Not just wired, you also get 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging to get charge from other devices. Now these extra charging capabilities are not available on the base model Edge 50 Fusion.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro comes with greater build, higher processing power and faster charging capabilities, on the other hand, the Edge 50 Fusion comes with higher battery capacity, appreciable performance and a good price that won’t break your bank.
